About Dr. Giller

IMG_9701.jpeg

I am a Long Island-based licensed clinical psychologist specializing in treating anxiety, depression, and related challenges, including stress management, school or work challenges, sleep difficulties, and relationship concerns. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Behavioral Activation. While I am not currently providing comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) services, I continue to use my experience with this modality, including mindfulness and acceptance-based techniques throughout treatment.

It is important to me to offer a validating environment that provides a nonjudgmental space and also supports progress toward personal goals and change. Whether that is working to change how you react to intense emotions, challenging worry thoughts, or managing the self-doubt you may feel in a new role, I am here to provide a tailored

approach that is backed by evidence-based techniques to meet your needs.  I believe in the power of flexibility- knowing the time to push yourself out of your comfort zone to experience something new.  I take this approach with the individuals and families I work with, as we collaborate to create a treatment plan that balances evidence-based practice with flexibility, compassion, and care.

My training began in schools and clinics serving children, adolescents and young adults. Throughout my career, I have learned about the importance of working closely within the systems people are embedded in (schools, family systems, communities) and considering how those contexts shape our values and beliefs.

I enjoy working with individuals as they navigate life’s many transitions. Whether coping with the stressors involved when transitioning from childhood to adolescence, navigating increased independence from adolescence to young adulthood, or adapting to a new role, such as parenthood, therapy can provide a dedicated space to explore these evolving dynamics.  I value the relationships I form with others, and hope you entrust me to support your blossoming towards your personal goals.
